The BC Health Coalition “Moving Medicare 2012” Regional Gathering is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect with health care advocates from around the province to share ideas, build skills and strategize together for better health care for all in BC. This year's Gathering will be held April 27-28th in beautiful Kamloops, BC! Featuring BC Ombudsperson Kim Carter as the keynote speaker, Ms. Carter will be talking about her office’s systemic investigation into seniors’ care and discussing her recent report: “The Best of Care: Getting it Right for Seniors in British Columbia (Part 2)”. The April 27-28th “Moving Medicare 2012” Regional Gathering will be an interactive event that will delve deeper into the issues that matter to you and to build skills and strategies for action that you can take back to your community. These are critical times for health care in BC, and in Canada. Here in BC, the Ombudsperson has released an historic report that provides a roadmap to improving care for seniors in our province – and it’s going to take all of us to see the report through to implementation. At the national level, the 10-year federal-provincial health accord is up for renewal. This is an opportunity to renew and strengthen health care in Canada, but it’s going to take a lot of work to move a reluctant federal government in the right direction. You are a valuable supporter of public health care. The gathering will be an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the province, connect with campaign initiatives and deepen your knowledge of health care issues.
