Pharmacare Vote E-Watch Party and a Post-Vote Rally From MPs Peter Julian (New Westminster-Burnaby), Don Davies (Vancouver Kingsway), Jenny Kwan (Vancouver East) Dear friends, The final hour of debate on the Canada Pharmacare Act C213 has been held in the House of Commons. There are indications that Liberals are thinking of opposing Bill C-213. A decision to vote no will have devastating effects on the hopes of millions of Canadians who are making impossible choices every day because they cannot afford their prescription medication. A no vote, of course, means that Liberal MPs would be: 1 Rejecting public and universal Pharmacare being included under the Canada Health Act framework. 2 Rejecting the clear recommendations made by the Hoskins’ report to establish with provincial governments a universal, public Pharmacare program. 3 Breaking their own 2019 election promise of universal Pharmacare. That said, we have a few more days to press MPs to vote in favour of public universal Pharmacare! We need you for this final sprint! Will you join tens of thousands of Canadians who have written to their MPs to ask them to support the Canada Pharmacare Act? Please act now: https://www.peterjulian.ca/pharmacare_email |
