BC FORUM News Promoting BC FORUM at CLC's 2011 Harrison Winter School January, 2011 - With thousands of labour activists set to descend upon Harrison Hot Springs for the CLC's annual Winter School over 5 weeks in January and February, members of BC FORUM's Board of Directors will be there promoting membership and its advantages during the trade show that takes place each Sunday afternoon. Volunteer Executive Directors will staff an information booth where they will be handing out printed materials and answering questions about BC FORUM to labour school students and instructors. This will be the 37th year of the Canadian Labour Congress' Winter School in Harrison and it is expected there will be more students attend this year's sessions than at any previous time. In addition to providing information about BC FORUM, Executive Directors Miriam Olney and Diane Wood will also be making a presentation about BC FORUM to union pension trustees at their winter school session. The week-long classes begin the week of January 16 and run until the week of February 13-18 with labour activists from British Columbia, the Yukon and from across western Canada attending. Make sure you drop by the BC FORUM booth and enter your name into the draw for some fabulous prizes! |
