BC FORUM News Record crowd attends 2012 BC FORUM AGM Posted June 20, 2012 - “It was great to see so many members attend this year’s annual general meeting,” says Diane Wood, President of BC FORUM. “We had lively and interesting debates, and that’s a good thing because the energy and participation of our members is needed now more than ever. Retired workers, our children and our grandchildren are facing challenges on so many fronts – social, economic and environmental,” she said. “With a provincial election next year, and the direction the Harper government is taking, the next few months are going to be very busy. It will be a time for all BC FORUM members to speak out clearly and forcefully for the values we share.” The annual general meeting, held June 13 in Burnaby, heard from key leaders in our movement including BC NDP Leader Adrian Dix and BC Federation of Labour President Jim Sinclair. Amber Hockin, Regional Director of the CLC, presented the remarks of CLC President Ken Georgetti when a late developing issue forced him to change his plans to attend. You can watch videos of their remarks to BC FORUM members here. The Board of Directors presented a detailed report on BC FORUM activities during the past year.
