COSCO Health & Wellness Institute seeking facilitators for Seniors’ Workshops - training will be provided

May, 2017 - The COSCO Health and Wellness Institute provides free health and safety promotion workshops to seniors’ groups in BC. The workshops are delivered by trained volunteer facilitators who are at least 50 years of age.

The workshops provide practical and usable information, but are not intended to provide specific legal, medical or financial advice. 

Since the first Falls Prevention Workshop developed by Sheila Pither in 2007, the Institute has expanded to 41 workshops, and have now presented to over 33,000 participants. Some of the workshops are translated into Chinese and Punjabi.

Facilitators receive mileage expenses but no other remuneration. Currently there are 30 trained facilitators in BC, but there is need for more facilitators in all parts of the province.
